Description
10" (25 cm.) Softly-stuffed grey felt mouse with
triangle-seamed long pointy nose,black shoe-button
eyes,one ear,stitched felt two-color cap,original
costume of cotton print shirt and felt trousers
with a yellow felt patch at the back over muslin
body,string tail,yellow neck bow,midnight-brown
felt sewn-on shoes with grey undersoles.
Condition: very good,some costume fading.
Comments: "Johnny Mouse",designed by Johnny
Gruelle,based upon his designs for the storybook
character appearing in "Johnny Mouse and the
Wishing Stick",patented in 1921,and produced by
Ross & Ross of California. Value Points: very rare
whimsical character,the exact piece appears in
Andrew TabbatÞs "The CollectorÞs World of Raggedy
Ann and Andy",
