25" (64 cm.) Papier-mache socket head on
Papier-mache shoulder head,brown enamel eyes in
half-moon shape,painted lower lashes,brush-stroked
brows,closed mouth with hint of smile,painted
brush-stroked hair,carton torso with bellow
crier,padded fabric upper limbs,Papier-mache lower
arms and legs. Condition: generally excellent.
Marks: (makerÞs signature in Japanese lettering on
torso). Comments: circa 1920,Japanese. Value
Points: rare large size of the Ichimatsu child
doll with his elaborate original kimono printed
with birds,flowers and mythological figures.
