6" (15 cm.) Depicting a young boy and girl,each
with bisque head having sculpted hair or
cap,painted wide-open googly eyes designed to
glance at each other,with all-around painted
sunburst-style lashes,tiniest nose,tiny "O" shaped
mouth,on original firmly-stuffed velvet-bodies
with painted costume details of stripes and polka
dots,and velvet-covered over-sized feet designed
to allow the dolls to stand freely. Condition:
generally excellent. Marks: Germany (stamp on
feet). Comments: Germany,circa 1915. Value Points:
very rare variation of the delightful googly
characters,the bodies likely designed for use as
pincushion.
