Description
22" (55 cm.) Bisque socket head of older boy with
lean elongated face and well-defined facial
planes,painted facial features,pale grey
side-glancing eyes with thick black upper
eyeliner,one-stroke wavy brows,well-shaped nose
with accented nostrils,closed mouth with shaded
and very full petulant lips,double chin softening
the otherwise angular face,wheat blonde antique
human hair wig,composition and wooden ball-jointed
body. Condition: there is a one-piece break and
reglue at the crown rim that is 1" deep and
extends from the mid-left side to mid-back with
faint vertical hairline above the left ear; the
flaws are completely covered by the wig. Marks:
K*R 107 55. Comments: Kammer and Reinhardt,circa
1910 from their art character series. The model
was sculpted by the famous Berlin
artist,Lewin-Funcke from his 1898 sculpture bust
titled "portrait of a boy",as told by the German
doll scholars,Marianne and Jurgen Cieslik in
German Doll Studies,page 227. This is the rare
larger version of the two sizes made by K*R in
their art character series. Value Points:
