11" (28 cm.) and 5 1/2". Each has carved wooden
head with painted hair and facial features,the
woman with carved colorful floral circlet around a
back chignon,muslin body,wooden hands. Condition:
generally excellent. Comments: Chinese Door of
Hope dolls depicting traditional Bride,Groom and
young child,circa 1925. Value Points: pristine
condition of the dolls with vibrant fresh costume
colors,the bride with embroidered red silk
tunic,skirt,slippers,hankie,and bead-edged coiffe;
the groom with purple kimono over blue robe and
purple pants,purple boots and fitted cap with blue
bead; and the child with multi-layered cotton
dress and pinafore,patterned leggings,silk cap
with silk fringed edging,and red slippers with
wonderful cat faces at the front.
