Description
15" (38 cm.) Composition head with flanged
neck,sculpted brown curly hair,well-defined
sculpted facial features of man or older boy with
deeply-set eye sockets,intaglio brown eyes,modeled
eye brows,closed mouth,muslin body with
pin-jointed arms and disc-jointed legs,composition
hands and lower feet with modeled white boots.
Condition: generally excellent. Comments: circa
1916,the doll was a promotional for "Babbit
Cleanser" of the B.T. Babbit Co.,and was sold for
$1 according the 1916 Playthings magazine. Value
Points: rare early composition model with
wonderful sculpting of features,original
finish,and wearing original linen white uniform
and cap with Babbitt;s Cleanser badge,along with a
tin can of the cleanser.
