Description
8" (20 cm.) Standing upon a painted tinplate
platform with hidden mechanism beneath and three
metal spoked wheels is a painted white tin
horse,with painted facial features,leather
ears,craftsman-quality leather harness,stirrups
and saddle. When wound,the toy moves forward as
though the horse was trotting along,and turns in
circles. Condition: generally excellent,original
finish,functions well,some paint missing on
platform. Comments: French,maker uncertain,in the
style of Theroude,circa 1860. Value Points: rare
early toy with luxury detail of accessories.
