of adult lady with slender oval face turned
slightly to the side,blue glass inset
eyes,aquiline nose,closed mouth with outlined pale
lips,brunette separately-inserted human hair in
original stylish coiffure of the late 19th
century,softly-stuffed original cloth body,slender
wax arms modeled bent at the elbows,wax lower
limbs. Condition: generally excellent. Comments:
Pierotti,the prestigious wax doll firm of
London,circa 1900,who was commissioned to portray
dolls of royal and noble British families
throughout the 19th century; this example is
believed to represent Princess Victoria,daughter
of King Edward VII,circa 1900. Value Points: very
rare doll is wonderfully-preserved,has distinctive
facial modeling with exquisite delicate blush,and
is wearing an extraordinary ivory silk satin gown
with extended train,with original
undergarments,pearls and carrying a silk floral
bouquet.
