Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Heubach (square) 9847 Germany. Comments: Gebruder Heubach, circa 1910,the doll is said to portray Princess Angeline (1811-1896),the eldest daughter and last living descendant of the great Suquamish Chief Seattle whose poignant story has been related in several books; the doll is a precisely-accurate rendition of actual photographs taken during her final years. Value Points: rare art character doll,a most unusual subject for the Heubach firm,is rarely found, and ranks among their finest models in terms of exceptional sculpting and very fine painting and complexion.
