with smiling expression,row of teeth,blonde mohair ringlet curls,five-piece composition
body,wearing her original pleated dress,undies,shoes and socks. Condition: generally
excellent. Marks: Shirley Temple (head and torso) Genuine Shirley Temple (cloth tag on dress).
Comments: Ideal,1935,portrait doll of the beloved child film star. Included with the doll is a
wooden display stand with framed window containing 13 raffle tickets stating "this is a chance
on the beautiful Shirley Temple doll to be given at the Shawmut Theatre"; the raffle was held
on December 19,1935 in Shawmut,Alabama,and this doll was won by Dorothy Platt who
preserved the doll,its box,its outer shipping box with return address from "Twentieth
Century-Fox Film Corporation",and raffle ticket display until its acquisition by Billie Nelson
Tyrrell. Value Points: beautiful Shirley with gorgeous hair and complexion,original dress and
wig in pristine condition,and with fascinating provenance.
