11"(28 cm.) All cloth doll with slightly-dimensional facial features,oil-painted complexion and features,blue upper glancing eyes,closed mouth with broad beaming smile,armature body,blonde long ringlet curls. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: doll by Mary Green (and original paper label,"Jeanette MacDonald in Naughty Marietta,1935"). Comments: American artist Mary Green was commissioned to create a series of early celebrity dolls during the 1940s for Daniel Blum's Screen World Annual,among those dolls was this of Jeanette MacDonald wearing a gown of blue silk and sheer crepe de chine. Value Points: perfectly-preserved one-of-a-kind doll,along with an autographed photograph of Jeanette MacDonald,and sheet music from Naughty Marietta with photograph of her.
