19"(48 cm.) Composition socket head with very characterized expression,wooden top hat of band
leader with decorative wooden plum and black brim,composition torso sculpted as a red jacket
with applied wooden buttons and yellow cord,all-wooden jointed arms and legs,with wooden
hands drilled for carrying baton and sign (sign lacking),and painted wooden shoes. Condition:
generally excellent,some paint rub on bottom right leg. Marks: General Electric Radio (and GE
logo,on hat). Comments: the doll was commissioned as a promotional piece by General
Electric,from Cameo,circa 1930. Value Points: rare and intricately-designed fabulous
character,with original painted finish.
