Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Deanna Durbin Ideal Doll (head) Ideal Doll (body). Comments: Ideal, circa 1939,inspired by the 1939 cel-animated film,Gulliver's Travels; Deanna Durbin actually had nothing to do with the film, although Ideal found it convenient to use the model for the Gulliver doll, simply changing the wig and using painted eyes. The doll wears its original costume with satin shirt, brown knit pants, vest, belt and leatherette boots. Value Points: rare doll with wonderfully-preserved condition, included is a signed note from the original owner reading,"Gulliver,Princess Gloria and Prince David were purchased in Los Angeles,Ca. by my father and given to me as a birthday gift sometime between 1937-1940".
