15"(38 cm.) Composition socket head,blue sleep eyes,real lashes,painted lashes and
brows,closed mouth with downcast lips of closed mouth,brunette human hair,composition
five-piece body,wearing her original taffeta plaid skirt with matching collar,shoes,and socks.
Condition: generally excellent. Comments: portrait doll of the 1930s child film star,Sybil Jason
(born 1927); positioned to become a Warner Bros. rival to Shirley Temple,she starred in the
1935 "Little Big Shot",yet ironically,ended her career in 1939 and 1940 playing supporting
roles to Shirley Temple in "The Little Princess"and "The Blue Bird". In 2005 her book,"My
Fifteen Minutes,An Autobiography of a Child Star of the Golden Era of Hollywood",was
published. Value Points: the beautifully-preserved very rare doll is presented in her original
box with trousseau comprising robe,dinner dress,coat and hat,and beach wear. The doll is
autographed Sybil Jason and included with the doll are three autographed studio photos to
"dear Billie"from Sybil Jason.
