18" (46 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate,very large brown glass
enamel inset eyes,dark eyeliner,painted lashes,brush-stroked and feathered brows,rose
blushed eye shadow,accented eye corners and nostrils,closed mouth with very full lips,pierced
ears,kid gusset-jointed poupee body with shapely torso,stitched and separated fingers.

Jumeau,circa 1875,the facial model evolved into the first period bebe by Emile Jumeau. Value
Points: in virtually unplayed with condition,the lady wears a beautiful patterned ivory/gold
gown with lace overlay,underwear,leather laced shoes,bonnet with orange blossom trim,and
carries a bouquet of wax orange blossoms. The doll is preserved in an early paper-covered
box along with a real wedding bouquet of wax orange blossoms,suggesting the doll?s origin
as a bridal token,to be carefully preserved for well more than a century,along with the bride?s
actual bouquet.
