16"(41 cm.) Composition head with sculpted black curly hair,painted facial features with thick
black brows and moustache,intaglio brown eyes,black painted spectacles,closed mouth with row
of beaded teeth,muslin body,wearing black suit with white vest,shirt and red tie. Condition:
generally excellent,uncertain if body is original. Comments: portrait doll of Groucho Marx from
the Marx Brothers whose family comedy act spanned vaudeville,stage,silent film,talkies,radio and
(in the case of Groucho) television,circa 1925. Value Points: rare doll in fine original painting is
an apt portrayal.
