21"(53 cm.) Composition socket head,brown sleep eyes,real lashes,closed mouth with richly- shaded lips,brunette hair arranged in very elaborate tightly-pinned curls,composition five piece body. Condition: generally excellent,eyes faded a bit,craze lines from lower eye rim. Comments: Molly-e's Dolls,circa 1940,the doll is presented in her original costume of black satin with tulle overlay,blue velvet ribbons,lace sleevelets,red taffeta plaid underskirt; the doll was shown as part of the Glamour Dolls series of 1940 under the name of Miss Hollywood Irene,likely representing the glamorous film actress Irene Dunne (1922-1985); an autographed photograph of the star is included. Value Points: rare doll with exquisite coiffure and costume,original box.
