22"(56 cm.) Solid domed bisque head with flat-cut neck socket,blue glass paperweight inset
eyes,dark eyeliner,rose-blushed eye shadow,painted lashes,brush-stroked and feathered
brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,open mouth,shaded and accented lips,pierced
ears,blond fleecy lambswool wig,carton torso containing clockwork mechanism,hinged
hips,composition arms and lower legs. When wound,the doll turns its head side to side and cries
"mama",waves her arms and kicks feet in babyish manner. Condition: generally excellent.
Comments: Jules Steiner,circa 1880. Value Points: rarer large size of the beloved bebe,with
beautiful bisque,well-functioning movements,and wearing her original batiste and lace
dress,undergarments,ruffled bonnet,and leather kidskin ankles boots signed "Modes de Paris".
