11"(28 cm.) Each has cloth face with slight-dimensional detailing,artistically-painted facial
features,stitched-on mohair wig,and firmly-stuffed body with painted highlights. Each doll is
wearing its original artist-made costume depicting the personality in his or her silent film role.
Included are Bert Lytell in "To Have and To Hold"(1922),Charles Farrell in "Seventh Heaven"
(1927),Sidney Blackmer in "Not So Long Ago"(1920),Wallace Reid in "Nice People"(1922),Faye
Emerson (film role unidentified) and another man (film and actor unidentified). Condition:
generally excellent. Marks: Mary Green (original cloth tags) (four with original paper labels
identifying the actor and the film). Comments: from a series of dolls created in the 1940s by
artist Mary Green for Daniel Blum,publisher of Screen World Annual; after his death in 1965
the dolls were auctioned. Value Points: one-of-a-kind dolls with artistic painting and
design,beautifully-designed costumes.
