18"(46 cm.) The painted oil-cloth nearly-flat-dimensional profile figure,designed with printed
face on one side of the head and his signature red hair on the other (hidden under the removable
helmet that is lettered "Red Grange 77"),and with profile-body that is lightly-padded for
dimensional effect,having printed leggings and shoes,and wearing original knit sweater lettered
"77"and khaki football breeches whose waist band is lettered "Red Grange 77"and "pat. applied
for". Condition: generally excellent. Comments: from a rare series of uniquely-designed
dolls,circa 1934,"77"was his number when he played for the Chicago Bears (1929-1934). Value
Points: rare doll of American sports hero,well-preserved with original helmet.
