Description
The collection includes 10"bisque head doll with sculpted hair,having pincushion silk skirt;
10"bisque doll as "sewing companion"with original body and brown velvet dress decorated
with silver metal paillettes and having attached scissors and thimble cases to match; 5"all-
porcelain doll with original bead-trimmed felt pincushion skirt and matching cap; two leather-
bound necessaire and thread cases; early fold-out needle case with lithography detail;
handmade velvet-covered needle case; two wooden tubes (one with dog head figural) for
holding sewing implements; three wooden needle cases (one being a souvenir of Chicago
1893 World Exposition); leather folding necessaire with mother of pearl tools; three darning
eggs (one with silver plated handle) Clark's Book of Needlework; and other various sewing
accessories. All very good to excellent. Mid/late 19th century.
