17"(43 cm.) seated. 23"extended. 15"head circ. Having light brown felt swivel head with pressed and painted facial features,large brown painted eyes with thick black upper eyeliner and curly lashes,grey lower eye shadow,highly-arched feathered brows,button-shaped nose,mouth designed with hole for placement of wooden flute,heavily-padded colorful felt turban that completely covers the back of the head and gives the illusion of very thick and full hair,felt torso and lower arms and legs,posed in seated manner. Condition: very good,typical fading and dustiness found on early models. Marks: Ars Lenci Torino,New York,Paris,London (large green silk label on inside of jacket). Comments: Lenci,circa 1925,from their very rare series of exotic dolls. Value Points: the Snake Charmer wearing his original purple felt turban with striped felt details,blue felt jacket with red scalloped edging,and lavender felt harem pants with colorful stripes. He holds a colorfully-decorated wooden flute with which to "charm"the striped felt snake that rests in a felt basket. The model is extremely rare,with original early silk Lenci label.
