29" (74 cm.) Felt swivel head with pressed and painted facial features of an adult woman,having slender face and elongated strong throat,her head turned sideways,painted brown eyes with pronounced grey eye shadow and painted lashes,feathered brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with full lips,brown mohair wig arranged with side braids,muslin body,felt arms. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: circa 1920,maker unknown,according to research by Billie Nelson Tyrrell,the doll represents the silent screen actress,Clara Kimball Young,whose screen credits included 1914 "My Official Wife," and 1914 "Lola without a Soul" during her contract with World Films. The side braid coiffure was a signature style of the actress. Value Points: the doll wears her original woolen print gown with lace apron and shawl and has a Clara Kimball Young banner and pin,each with her photograph.
