16"(41 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate,very pale complexion with
plump cheeks and softly-blushed complexion,blue glass enamel inset eyes,painted lashes and
lightly-feathered brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with accent line
between the lips,ears pierced into head,blonde mohair wig over cork pate,French wooden
poupee body with dowel-jointing at shoulders,elbows,wrists,hips,knees and ankles,ball-swivel
waist,original scalloped-edge kid collarette. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: F (head and
shoulders). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru,circa 1867,the model is first version of his later-
deposed smiling poupee,having characteristic initial size marking,with original Bru deposed
wooden body of 1867. Value Points: rare early model with wonderfully-preserved original
body finish,original wig,head and shoulder plate. Along with her original French wooden
trunk,and a trousseau of five various gowns for all occasions,fancy leather ankle boots,three
fancy bonnets,undergarments including blouse and chemisette,and a beautiful coiffe.
