21"(53 cm.) excluding hat. The composition head depicts an adult gentleman with painted brown
side-glancing eyes,black upper eyeliner,curly brown lashes,curved brows,closed mouth with
firmly-set lips,strong jaw,cloth stitch-jointed body,wearing original tuxedo and cape,cardboard
top hat. Condition: very good overall,some wear to original shoes,hat repaired. Comments: circa
1920,according to research by Billie Nelson Tyrrell,the doll represents John Barrymore of the
distinguished acting family. Value Points: rare salon style doll with original finish well-
preserved,original costume including monocle,along with a 1926 theatre book featuring John
Barrymore in "Don Juan",a silent film of that year.
