39" (99 cm.) The silver sword with cast iron ornamentation that includes elaborate gargoyles,figures and shields,and with a hand grip whose tip is a figural profile of man in helmet with surmounting recumbent lion. The sword and scabbard both bear the initial FCB indicating Knights of Pythias,and there is an added shield at grip with the initials UR or VR. The sword and sheath are preserved in old kidskin wrap. Excellent condition. The sword was presented as Lot#615 in the Rudolph Valentino estate auction of 1926,described "Masonic Knight Templar Sword and Scabbard",and Billie Nelson Tyrrell acquired it from the purchaser at that auction.
