5"(13 cm.) Kewpie. 7"including wig. One-piece all-bisque Kewpie with sculpted topknot,side
curls and forelock curl,large black left-glancing eyes,thick painted lashes,one stroke
"dot"brows,closed mouth with thin line smile,sculpted blue wings,loop-jointed bisque arms and
legs. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: O'Neill (feet). Comments: Kewpie,designed by Rose
O'Neill,circa 1920. Value Points: the doll has an original very high fancy wig in a stylized parody
designed during the early 1920s and produced both in this bisque version and in composition
models (see lot #339).
