5"(13 cm.) The firm-sided oval necessaire is covered with tan kidskin alternating with bands of
woven floral-designed silk ribbon and edged with brass metal bands,having brass link carrying
handles,and four brass-plated feet. The necessaire folds open at the center lid,and at each side
to reveal well-fitted interiors with gold-plated awl,needle case and various needles,a silver
scissors and thimble,velvet pincushion,and little coin purse. Of superb luxury construction.
French,circa 1875. Excellent condition.
