15"(38 cm.) Of latex composition,having swivel head with sculpted head and hair,painted facial features exactly depicting the raved film star,Horst Bucholz,at the time of his first Bambi award (German equivalent of Oscar),with latex composition slender body,jointed limbs,and wearing a classic film costume of black and white checkered jacket and black trousers,molded shoes and socks. Condition: head excellent,latex legs are disformed. Marks: 7215 (head) Goebel mark (torso). Comments: the fascinating story of a series of five German celebrity dolls,to be designed by the German sculptor,Gerhard Skrobek and made by Goebel is told in Cieslik's German Doll Studies,p. 323; this doll is one of the series. Value Points: very rare doll with superb modeling of the actor most known to the American market for his role in "The Magnificent Seven".
