20"(51 cm.) Each has composition head with flanged neck,painted hair and facial features,muslin
body,composition lower limbs and sculpted shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments:
portrayed are The Lone Ranger and Tonto from the popular radio show that aired from 1933 to
the mid-40s,and morphed into a TV show that ran from 1949 to 1957. The dolls were made by
Dollcraft Novelty and advertised in Playthings Magazine in 1937. Value Points: artistic painting of
facial features and complexions,and wearing their factory-original costumes including printed
designs of their names and images on pants legs and the Lone Ranger with a badge.
