12"(30 cm.) Each has composition head with artistically-painted facial features,cloth body and
composition hands; he with brown sculpted hair and wearing red toreador costume and hat,and
she with black mohair wig in side braids,wearing folklore costume. Condition; generally
excellent. Marks: Made in Germany (cloth label on skirt). Comments: circa 1920s,the dolls depict
Rudolph Valentino as Juan Gallardo and Lila Lee as Carmen from the 1922 film "Blood and Sand".
Value points: well-preserved dolls,the Valentino model especially an apt portrayal of him in that
role.
