18" (46 cm.) Earthenware head with deeply sculpted features that are an apt representation of the lst Earl Kitchener,having brown sculpted center-parted hair,thick brown brows and bushy moustache,deeply-set eye sockets with dark outline,closed mouth,muslin body with earthenware hands and sculpted brown shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: circa 1900,from a series of dolls portraying British leaders during the Boer War,1899-1901,the doll aptly portrays Viscount Herbert Kitchener of Great Britain who served in the Boer War,India,and World War I. Value Points: artistically-sculpted and painted,with finish perfectly preserved,and wearing original khaki uniform with leather holster and belt,leggings,stripes,and having original photographic label.
