18" (46 cm.) Having earthenware head with sculpted hair combed back from face,deeply sculpted facial features including age lines under the inset brown glass eyes,very thick moustache nearly covering his mouth,wood-composite fully-jointed body with painted sculpted black shoes,sculpted hands and fingers,wearing blue woolen military costume with metallic epaulets and trim,ribbons. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Circa 1900,from a series of portrait dolls of British leaders during the Boer War (1899-1901),each aptly sculpted to portray the actual person,this model unidentified. Value Points: well-preserved and very rare doll with artistically- sculpted and painted features.
