14"(36 cm.) Composition shoulder head with painted blonde baby hair and mohair tuft of hair at
the crown,painted facial features,blue eyes,long painted curly upper lashes,closed mouth in wide
beaming grin with painted teeth,dimpled cheeks,muslin body,composition arms,antique costume
appears original. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Madame Hendren Doll. Comments: the
doll depicts Baby Snookumns of the George McManus comic strip,"The Newlyweds". So popular
was the comic that it was made into short reel silent films,with Sunny Jim McKeen playing the
role of the Newlyweds baby,Snookums,circa 1925. Value Points: rare character celebrity
doll,included are two early celluloid button pins.
