7"(18 cm.) Each has one-piece composition head and torso,painted features,mohair wig,jointed
arms and legs,painted shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Mme Alexander (torso) (and
each doll has original cloth tag on her costume indicating the name of her character). Comments:
Madame Alexander,circa 1933,the dolls were issued at the time of the 1933 film "Little
Women"based upon the Louisa Alcott novel. Value Points: beautiful original condition of the early
dolls,especially rare as a set; two of the dolls have autographs on their torso by the film actress
who played their role in the 1933 film,Frances Dee (as Meg) and Joan Bennett (as Amy). With Big
Little Book "Little Women"with image of the actresses on the cover.
