28"(71 cm.) One-piece molded head and torso,angular slender face that is up-tilted to reveal
her long slender throat,and inclined slightly sideways,having pressed and painted facial
features,pale blue painted eyes with heavily-modeled eyelids,aquiline nose with rounded
tip,small closed mouth with painted teeth,short blonde curly bobbed hair,defined bosom and
long waist,long slender arms and legs,feet posed for heels,wearing black chiffon gown and
pearls in the 1920s style. Condition: doll is generally excellent with well-preserved painted
and felt face,beautiful hair,small moth hole on right arm,costume is an apt copy of the
original. Comments: Lenci,circa 1930,the doll was shown as #570 in the 1930 Lenci catalog; it
closely resembles Marlene Dietrich in her role as Lola-Lola in the 1930 internationally-
acclaimed Berlin film,"The Blue Angel",which achieved international fame. The doll was likely
inspired by Dietrich's role although not officially named so in the Lenci catalog. Value Points:
very rare model with very beautiful face,pose,and hair.
