Wax shoulder head with elongated throat, black sculpted curly hair in side-parted style, dark grey side-glancing eyes, painted features, closed mouth with painted row of teeth, wrapped armature body, wearing taffeta wedding gown with silver metallic overlay and bridal bouquet. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: 1920s,from a series of wax portrait dolls of film actresses made exclusively for The Art Shop of the Ambassador Hotel; according to research by Billie Nelson Tyrrell, this doll was Norma Shearer, and it is possible that she is shown in her wedding gown of her 1927 wedding to Irving Thalberg, considered the "Hollywood wedding of the year". Value Points: beautiful doll with wonderfully-preserved condition.
