18"(46 cm.) Amber-wax shoulder head that extends to the waist,elongated throat,heart-shaped face,hazel side-glancing painted eyes,blue eyeshadow,closed mouth,brunette mohair bobbed wig,muslin lower torso arranged so doll's waist can swivel,wax lower limbs,wearing metallic- overlay flapper style dress and headband. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: circa 1920,according to research by Billie Nelson Tyrrell,the doll represents the silent film star Renee Adoree. Value Points: beautiful doll with well-preserved original costume and wig; included is an early postcard image of the actress as well as Photoplay,November 1926,featuring Renee on the cover holding a salon doll.
