Description
28" x 15" x 16". A large wooden open-front room
with original painted bronze-green interior and
papered scalloped border,has original
texture-papered floor,carved trim on front
columns with gilt accents,and built-in display
shelving on the back wall with lattice-like
cornice and gold-painted finials; there is a
matching counter. The clock shop has an
exceptional collection of miniature dollhouse
clocks in a wide variety of styles including
mantel clocks under glass domes,many other mantel
clocks,wooden-framed clocks,lithographed tin
clocks (some as penny toys),and still others of
soft metal,porcelain,ormolu,and pewter; mostly the
clocks are dollhouse models,without works. There
are a total of 65 clocks in the shop. A rare paper
mache dollhouse man with sculpted top hat and
goatee,wearing original costume stands at the
counter. Excellent condition. Germany,the clocks
are mostly late 19th/early 20th century. An
exceptional presentation with original papers and
painting of store,and many rare miniature clocks.
