Description
5" (13 cm.) h. The firm-sided card stock desk with
roll top has lithographed paper cover to simulate
rosewood,with four working drawers,fitted interior
niches,original desk pad with scissors and
papers,and superb appliqued gold embossed trim
overall. A medallion at the center is inscribed
"souvenir"; the desk may have begun as a "boite de
bon-bons" with its later purpose to be as a
dollhouse furnishing. Excellent condition,the
roll-top functions well,and the papers are
beautifully preserved. French,early 19th century.
