Description
A large salon or ball room with dove-tailed construction,originally-painted finish,having painted exterior side walls with faux-windows,has interior walls with brown edging and stenciled design around wood-grained panels to simulate exotic woods. The back wall features two arched stained glass windows with leaded panes,and the floor is painted dark brown with an elaborate center stenciled design. An elaborate three-arm chandelier by Sohlke hangs at the center,above an arrangement of French bronze furnishings including two bronze vitrines and a bronze piano (with hidden working music box). A gilt-framed mirror hangs on the wall,as well as a bronze exotic bird,and an exquisite pair of Sevres vases with bronze base and frame are displayed. Two German bisque dollhouse ladies in ball gowns are present as well as a superb early paper mache man with sculpted moustache and original costume. Excellent condition. Germany,Biedermeier era,circa 1860.
