Description
30" x 15" x 12. The wide wooden store has painted pale-green exterior and base, and has golden oak or chestnut interior with natural finish. The walls and floor are papered, the floor to simulate parquet, and the walls with a delightfully-patterned paper that combines several borders and panels and is finished at the ceiling level with a border of classic playful gnomes. The store is framed by an unusual pair of store front panels that are angled in "corner cabinet" style, have arched windows, decorative crest, black edging, and exterior window ledges for flower pots. Shelving and drawers extend the width of the back wall with a decorative crest franked by two decorative railings and showcasing a display shelf. There are 22 wooden food and spice drawers, each with a banner-shaped tin label with impressed name of food, and a wide center display area and storekeeper's shelf. A counter sits in the middle with a brass scale and box of weights. Excellent condition. Germany, circa 1910,rare features of the store include the angled store-front cabinets and original wallpaper with gnome border.
