Description
30" x 15" x 12. The wide wooden store has painted
pale-green exterior and base,and has golden oak or
chestnut interior with natural finish. The walls
and floor are papered,the floor to simulate
parquet,and the walls with a
delightfully-patterned paper that combines several
borders and panels and is finished at the ceiling
level with a border of classic playful gnomes. The
store is framed by an unusual pair of store front
panels that are angled in "corner cabinet"
style,have arched windows,decorative crest,black
edging,and exterior window ledges for flower pots.
Shelving and drawers extend the width of the back
wall with a decorative crest franked by two
decorative railings and showcasing a display
shelf. There are 22 wooden food and spice
drawers,each with a banner-shaped tin label with
impressed name of food,and a wide center display
area and storekeeper's shelf. A counter sits in
the middle with a brass scale and box of weights.
Excellent condition. Germany,circa 1910,rare
features of the store include the angled
store-front cabinets and original wallpaper with
gnome border.
