Description
29" x 14" x 12". A wooden doll house room box has
original ochre and cream painted exterior with
gold accents and classic Hacker tassel ornament on
front columns. The larger room has an unusual wide
parlor window with arched sun window above
four-paned smaller windows (the center two hinged
to open) with fancy wooden cornice that matches
the cornices over the center door-way and over the
smaller bedroom window. The interior has original
wall and floor papers with double borders in the
living room that match with wainscoting paper,and
an unusual three-section wall paper in the
bedroom. The center doorway is painted cream with
ochre and blue striping detail. The house is
furnished with a daintily-scaled cherry-finish
wooden dining and parlor service with fancy
carving and spindles including dessert
buffet,lady's desk,table,book stand,and matching
settee,three chairs and an unusual child's corner
chair with original patterned sateen fabric and
silk fringe. The oak bedroom suite includes
bed,wash-stand and night-stand. A gas lamp is
hanging in the parlor and a glass-beaded lamp is
in the bedroom. There is a small holiday
feather-tree,milk glass tea service,soft-metal
hanging clock and newspaper rack,ceramic parlor
stove,painted tin bedroom stove,recording player
with horn,milk glass tea service,metal-framed
photograph album,various hanging prints,vases,two
dogs,two cats,two bisque dollhouse ladies in
original costumes,and one all-bisque child.
Excellent condition. Germany,circa 1900,the house
by Christian Hacker. The actual house is shown in
the Kohler book,Christian Hacker,page 237. A
charming petite size with wonderful original
decorations,furniture sets,lamps and holiday tree.
