16" (41 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass eyes, dark painted lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, open mouth, outlined lips, two porcelain upper teeth, blonde mohair wig over plaster pate, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, boy's antique suit including flannel jacket and roller skates. Condition: generally excellent, eyes set. Marks: F made in Germany 10 (head) Excelsior Germany 1 (body) Made for G.A. Schwartz Philadelphia Made in Germany (paper label on torso). Comments: Kestner, circa 1915, the doll was presented by the famed Philadelphia store. Value Points: bright-eyed character with cheerful expression, choice bisque and painting, original body and body finish, original store label.
