Description
6 " (17 cm.) The wooden furniture with
lithographed paper cover in brown and black to
simulate elaborate carving and inlay comprises a
tall hall mirror,armoire with opening door,oval
pedestal parlor table,bed,and side chair. The
furniture is constructed with unusual
dove-tailing,and the mirror has an ink inscription
on the back "No 73a Puppenspiegel" and Gesetzlich
geschutz stamp,along with a maker's stamp
depicting a cupid with arrow and the initials E.G.
Excellent condition. Germany,circa 1890,possibly
C.G. Einhorn who registered the term
"puppenstuben" in 1888. A rare set with designed
maker's mark,the furniture combines carving with
lithography for a very luxury look.
