Description
27" x 13" x 14". The wooden-framed kitchen with
open front and windowless sides is painted
original blue with paper lithographed floor in a
rich diamond pattern to simulate tiles or
parquetry. The kitchen is fitted with original
wooden furniture that is attached to the walls,and
is painted its original ochre color with red
trim,comprising,wall-length cupboards and
shelves,two small shelves,worktable,and a fine
cupboard with lattice design on the windows. The
exterior is painted original ochre with outline of
stone work,and has hanging hooks on one side. The
stove is an unusual faux-stoneware ceramic with
fitted tin stove top. The well-laden kitchen is
filled with cookware,pottery,copper molds,butcher
block and cleaver,ceramic molds,rare scale,ladles
and cooking spoons,and pewter plates. A paper
mache lady stands in the midst. Original finish
with some typical rubs. Germany,Christian
Hacker,mid-19th century. The kitchen is numbered
190/2 on its underside,in addition to having
classic Hacker stencilling and is shown in the
Kohler book Christian Hacker,page 210.
