Description
18" x 14" x 9". A wooden-framed shop with shop
windows and open doorway has ochre paint with
sienna trim on the front columns,an arched crest
with lithographed clock, and two decorative panels
at the front advertising the shop's specialty of
"Wurstwaren" (sausage). There are decorative
panels and hanging hooks at the back wall, and a
long counter. The shop contains a plentitude of
meats and poultry, some on plates and others
hanging on the wall, along with a butcher block and
barrels. There is a tin scale at the back, and the
hearty paper mache butcher in original clothes
stands ready for an order with a cleaver in his
hand. Excellent condition,some over-painting of
exterior walls, but the Wurstwaren panels and clock
are original,floor papers original. Germany,circa
1890,possibly Christian Hacker.
