Description
8" (20 cm.) l. sofa frame. Of a solid wood with
red cherry finish, the set is highlighted by black
leather upholstered furniture in a style commonly
referred to as "gentleman's club chairs",including
a settee with arms that has an elaborately
fashioned wooden surround with display
shelves,cabinets,drawers and mirrors,along with
two matching leather-covered club chairs and two
side chairs,and with a library table,grandfather
clock with gilt metal clock frame and pendulum, and
a curio cabinet with mirrored top. Each of the
wooden pieces has impressed design to simulated
carving in an Art Nouveau fashion. Excellent
condition. Germany,circa 1910,Schneegass &
Sohne, the leather upholstery is quite rare, and the
entire set is wonderfully-preserved.
