Description
20" x 12" x 12". The wooden-framed room with
decorative columns at the front in natural wooden
with ebony trim has a wooden base and ceiling
moldings in natural finish. The interior walls are
lithographed to appear as an actual room with
details of wall paper,windows,doors,lavish
draperies,mirrors,prints and even architectural
trim such as paneled wainscoting. The paper
lithographed floor is designed to simulate wooden
parquet. There is a blown emerald green glass dome
with two rows of suspended beads,and the room is
furnished with a chestnut-framed settee and chairs
in luxurious green velvet upholstery,along with
matching table. There is a Maerklin parlor stove
at the back,an easel with framed lithograph,an Art
Nouveau lady stature with clock,metal parlor
lamp,other accessories,and two bisque dolls with
sculpted blonde hair and pretty antique costumes.
Excellent condition. Germany,circa 1890,a
well-constructed and rare room that combines the
traditional wooden room box with the lithographed
designs found on folding rooms. $1800/2500
