Description
11" (28 cm.) The lithographed tin dispenser has
scenes of an old woman peeking out her upstairs
window at the front, woman feeding chickens at the
side, and dancing children at the back. Excellent
condition,a few typical scratches and rubs.
Stollwerck's tin dispenser,a miniature version of
the actual store dispensers of the German
chocolate firm of Stollwerck, was designed for home
use as a penny bank toy; it came filled with candy
and in order to have a candy, children were
required to place a coin in the slot. They were
first issued about 1890 and for some decades
thereafter, and were popularly used by children in
their doll house stores.
